Juan Salvo lives in present-day Buenos Aires and spends a summer night playing cards with friends when a power failure comes before a deadly snowfall. The snow kills anyone it touches, so Juan builds a rough protective suit and searches for his missing daughter, Clara. He joins Elena, Favalli, Tano, Omar, Inga, Pablo, and other survivors as the group crosses ruined streets, a shopping center, and military checkpoints. The tone shifts between quiet fear, family tension, sudden gun battles, alien insects, strange mind control, and an unfinished mystery.
The clearest woke element is the repeated lesson that people must give up individual survival and work together. The show gives important jobs to Elena, a doctor, and Inga, a Venezuelan delivery worker, while Pablo comes from an Asian family and several women help shape the group's choices. The story also adds more active women and changes some source characters, but it does not center race, gender, sexuality, or modern DEI arguments. Its main message is broad social solidarity against an outside threat, so the woke material is noticeable but not dominant.
