Who we are

Woke or Not (“we”, “us”) publishes editorial scores for movies and TV shows at isitwokeornot.com. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.

Our scores are opinion

Every score on this site is an editorial judgement, not a statement of fact. Scores describe how strongly a title leans into identity politics, DEI, and activist messaging as we read it. They are not a measure of quality, and they are not endorsed by any studio, distributor, or rights holder. We explain our criteria on the how we review page.

We may revise a score at any time as new information appears. We make a genuine effort to be accurate and consistent, but we make no warranty that any score, synopsis, age rating, cast credit, or streaming availability is correct, current, or complete.

Your profile

A free profile lets you keep a watchlist, vote on the accuracy of our scores, save your search preferences, and publish shortlists. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. You must be at least 13 years old to create one.

You may delete your profile at any time from your profile page, or by emailing us. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms.

Votes, lists, and other things you submit

You agree not to:

• Manipulate our rating votes, including by creating multiple accounts, or by automated or coordinated voting.
• Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or infringes someone else's rights.
• Scrape, bulk-download, or republish our scores or review text as a dataset or competing product.
• Attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its APIs.

When you publish a shortlist you choose whether it is public or unlisted. Anything you make public can be seen and shared by others. You keep ownership of what you submit, and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host and display it on the site. We may remove submitted content or discount votes that appear manipulated, at our discretion.

Funded reviews

You can pay to move a title up our review queue. Payment buys a place in the queue and our editorial attention — it does not buy a particular score, a favourable review, or a guaranteed publication date. We will refuse or refund a request if we cannot review the title. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never receive or store your card details.

Affiliate links and third-party content

Some links to buy or stream a title are affiliate links, including Amazon Associates links. If you buy through one we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects a score.

Poster art, cast information, and streaming availability come from third-party sources including The Movie Database (TMDB) and OMDb. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Posters and other artwork remain the property of their respective rights holders and are used to identify the titles we review.

Our content

Our review text, scores, rankings, and site design belong to us. You are welcome to quote a short extract with a link back, but you may not republish substantial parts of the site without permission.

No warranty and limits on liability

The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
