Abduction follows Quinn, a British fighter and father who wakes in a fountain in Ho Chi Minh City with no memory of his life. He learns that strange beings took his daughter Lucy, and he tries to find her while time and space work against him. He meets Conner, a former soldier and crime enforcer whose wife Maya has also been taken. The film moves through city streets, hospitals, crime hideouts, and alien spaces, with a strange and violent action tone.
The movie uses family rescue, lost memory, crime, and alien horror as its main ideas. Anna, a Vietnamese mental health doctor, checks Quinn, studies clues from his past, and helps bring the two men together.
