In 1985 Los Angeles, Maxine Minx is an adult film star who wants a real Hollywood career. She wins the lead in a cheap horror sequel called The Puritan II. A private detective from her past and a mysterious killer start circling her friends and coworkers. The movie mixes neon nights, gore, and old-school slasher style with real 1980s fear about the Night Stalker and media panic.
Maxine’s push for fame as a woman leaving porn for mainstream film sits at the center of the plot.
