Lazer Team follows Anthony Hagan, a small-town Texas police officer, and three troublemakers named Zach, Woody, and Herman. The four men find a crashed alien ship and become locked into four parts of a powerful battle suit. The suit was meant for a trained champion, but the men must learn to work together before the Worg aliens attack Earth. The movie has fast jokes, crude sex humor, slapstick violence, and a warm team story.
Hagan protects his daughter Mindy while she dates Zach, and he says that she can make her own choices as a strong, independent woman. Mindy is later used by the aliens to reach the team, so her role stays tied to the family and romance plot.
