Arjun Reddy is a gifted medical student who later becomes a surgeon in South India. He falls hard for Preethi after seeing her at college and quickly treats the relationship as something he owns. When her family rejects the match and arranges another marriage, Arjun turns to alcohol, drugs, reckless sex, and angry violence. His spiral damages his work, his health, and his ties with the people who still try to help him. The movie uses a long, intense, often shocking style that mixes romance, dark humor, and painful self-destruction. The story keeps its attention on Arjun’s rage, pride, and need to control Preethi. Arjun protects her at times, but he also decides who may speak to her, claims her in front of other men, and slaps her during a major fight. Preethi has little power in the story, while Arjun’s behavior is treated as part of a passionate love story and is followed by a late path back to her. The movie also shows a man crying and suffering after heartbreak, but it keeps the focus on his pain, addiction, and violent choices.
