Locked In is a dark British thriller set around a grand house in the English countryside and a hospital room. Lina is a young woman who was taken in by Katherine after Lina lost her mother, then married Katherine’s sickly stepson Jamie. When Katherine is struck by a car and left awake but unable to move or speak, nurse Nicky begins asking how the injury happened. Flashbacks uncover a family built on money, jealousy, sex, illness, and lies.
The film gives Lina a difficult place in a wealthy family where marriage and inheritance keep her tied to Jamie. Jamie uses his illness and Robert uses his role as a doctor to control people around them. The women respond in different ways to control, money, and danger. The result is a pulpy mystery about family secrets, betrayal, and murder.
