The Spengler family moves into the old New York firehouse and works with the original Ghostbusters. Teen genius Phoebe and her family face an ancient ice spirit that tries to freeze the city. The movie is a light supernatural comedy with scares, team fights, and family bonds. The tone stays fun and adventure focused while older and younger heroes team up.
A big side story follows Phoebe after she is pulled off the team for being too young. She bonds with Melody, a teen girl ghost, and their friendship grows very intense. Phoebe even leaves her body so they can touch. The film never says they are a couple, but the closeness plays like a soft queer crush for many viewers. That thread is secondary to the ghost battle, yet it is clear and easy to notice.
