Cole is a popular American vlogger who has spent ten years filming risky trips and pranks for millions of followers. He travels to Moscow with his girlfriend Erin and friends Dash, Samantha, and Thomas for a private escape room arranged by a wealthy fan. The game soon turns into a brutal fight through locked rooms, traps, armed men, and staged deaths. The movie uses a tense, bloody tone and keeps asking whether Cole is watching real danger or another piece of content.
The movie centers on the hunger for views, likes, and fame. Cole keeps performing for his audience even when his friends seem to face real torture, and his online image hides a selfish and reckless man.
