Joe Braven runs a logging business in the snowy mountains of Newfoundland. He takes his father Linden to a remote cabin after Linden’s dementia causes trouble and the family starts talking about full-time care. Joe’s daughter Charlotte secretly joins them, and a group of drug runners arrives to recover cocaine hidden in the cabin. The film turns the small family trip into a violent fight for survival with axes, bows, guns, and traps.
The story treats family loyalty, fatherhood, and care for an aging parent as its main concerns. Joe is a strong but frightened father who protects Charlotte and tries to save Linden.
