Knightfall follows Landry du Lauzon, a battle-worn Knight Templar who leads his brothers in France. After his master is killed, Landry hunts for the lost Holy Grail while King Philip IV moves against the Templars. The story moves between the French court, the Templar order, and the Holy Land. It mixes bloody sword fights with secret deals, faith, romance, betrayal, and revenge.
Season two briefly describes Prince Edward as a man who favors men while his marriage to Isabella is arranged. This detail creates a court problem, but it does not become a queer-centered story. Isabella and Queen Joan are strong political figures, yet their stories stay tied to royal power, marriage, and family.
