In 1830, retired detective Augustus Landor is called to West Point after a cadet is found hanged with his heart cut out. The school wants answers fast and wants its name protected. Landor gets help from a strange, smart young cadet named Edgar Allan Poe. The film is a cold, slow, dark mystery with murder, secrets, and a bleak tone.
The story stays fixed on grief, revenge, and a grim murder puzzle. Landor and Poe dig through lies, bullying, and dark magic while the school hides ugly facts. The big turn is personal pain and payback, not race politics, gender lectures, or modern activist slogans. A normal viewer would notice the frozen setting, the body horror, and the father-son bond between Landor and Poe far more than any social-message agenda.
