Rebirth

Rebirth follows Kyle Madison, a quiet suburban husband and father who works at a bank and lives by a dull routine. His old college friend Zack invites him to a secret self-help retreat that promises to wake him up. The weekend sends Kyle through blindfolded trips, staged abuse, sexual pressure, threats, and strange group games inside a maze-like building. The thriller uses dark comedy and fear as Kyle tries to decide whether Rebirth is a scam, a cult, or a real way to change his life.

The film puts most of its weight on personal freedom, corporate routine, and the danger of groups that promise to fix unhappy lives. Kyle’s bank job and family life look safe but empty, while the retreat attacks his fear of conflict and his need to please others. The film mocks new-age self-help language, male bonding, social-media work, and the idea that a person can buy a new identity. Its message stays unclear because Rebirth is shown as cruel and dishonest, yet the ending suggests that the retreat may have made Kyle more confident and successful.
