Little Bone Lodge follows Rose, a mother who lives with her daughter Maisy and wheelchair-bound husband Pa in a remote Scottish farmhouse. During a violent storm, injured brothers Jack and Matty arrive after a crash and take the family hostage. The night becomes a fight between the brothers, the family, and the people searching for them. The film uses a dark, tense, and twist-heavy horror style, with secrets hiding in almost every room.
Rose's control of the house grows from motherhood, grief, and revenge, and her choices change how the audience sees her. A black father is part of the family, while a black police officer appears in the crime story, but race does not drive the plot. Maisy and Matty form a fragile bond while each family hides pain, violence, and a need for protection.
