Inner Workings is a six-minute animated comedy about Paul, an office worker in a sunny California setting. His Brain treats each choice as a danger, while his Heart wants food, fun, and a day at the beach. The organs inside Paul act like small people and turn his daily routine into a fast visual joke. The tone is bright, silly, and warm, with most of the story told through movement instead of speech.
Paul first follows the Brain to a dull office where rows of workers enter data all day. At lunch, the Brain sees that a life built only on fear and routine will leave Paul unhappy, so it lets the Heart take control. Paul eats, swims, buys sunglasses from Kate, and returns to work with new energy. The ending shows Paul and Kate marry and raise children, while the office joins his new dance, giving the short a simple message about balancing duty with joy.
