Woke Score
Lower is better
Review
This 2025 meta-comedy follows a group of childhood friends in midlife crisis—Jack Black, Paul Rudd, Steve Zahn, and Thandiwe Newton—who head to the Amazon to shoot a low-budget remake of their favorite 1997 snake movie. Real giant anacondas and some criminals turn it into a chaotic survival ride focused on friendship and chasing dumb dreams. The story sticks to buddy-adventure gags and light Hollywood satire with zero identity politics, lectures, or social-justice messaging. Diverse casting is incidental and never framed as an agenda.
