Summary

Shamim Sarif is a British filmmaker, novelist, and screenwriter whose public career is strongly associated with feminism, LGBTQ+ representation, cultural identity, and stories about women of colour. Her early features I Can’t Think Straight and The World Unseen became widely recognized queer films centered on South Asian women, sexuality, family expectations, and cultural conflict.
