June Bailey is a smart and creative girl who builds models of an amusement park called Wonderland with her mother. When her mother becomes seriously ill and leaves for treatment, June loses hope and turns away from the park. She later finds the real Wonderland broken under a dark cloud, and she joins its talking animals to repair it. The movie mixes fast comedy and wild rides with a serious story about fear, sadness, and family.
June is shown as a gifted builder who loves math and solves the park's hardest problems. Greta the warthog leads the animal team, while June's mother is the voice behind the park's ideas. These choices give girls the main roles in invention and leadership, but the story does not turn that into a speech about gender. June learns that fear can harm her imagination, and she saves the park by facing her sadness instead of running from it.
