Matt is a retired government assassin who hides as a drunken beach bum in the Cayman Islands. His estranged daughter Ashley sends her young daughter Sarah to him after a criminal deal puts the family in danger. Crime boss Donnie and his men chase them over a hard drive that may expose corrupt officials. The movie uses bloody fights, guns, dark jokes, and a fast crime plot with a family story underneath.
Matt's family failure gives the action a simple emotional goal. Ashley and Sarah survive through courage, quick choices, and help from allies. Bobo's time with Sarah changes his choices, while Matt accepts that his violent past cannot stay hidden. The story treats crime, betrayal, and family loyalty as entertainment.
