John Stratton is a British Special Boat Service commando who works with MI6. He and his American partner Marty raid a secret lab on the Iranian coast to seize a deadly chemical weapon. The mission goes wrong, Marty dies, and Stratton joins a new team to hunt the former Russian agent Gregor Barovski. The chase moves through Iran, Ukraine, Rome, and London, and the film uses guns, boats, drones, explosions, and a fast bus chase.
The film centers on duty, revenge, loyalty, and the cost of secret military work. Stratton is skilled in the field, but he struggles with grief and with life away from the battlefield. Aggy runs key technical work for the team, while Sumner leads the MI6 operation. The action treats both women as useful members of the mission, while the main story follows Stratton's hunt for Barovski and his fight to stop a mass attack on London.
