Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire follows Kong exploring the Hollow Earth in search of his own kind while Godzilla keeps order among the Titans on the surface, forcing the two to team up against a tyrannical ape ruler and his enslaved ice Titan. The thin human subplot involves Monarch scientists investigating signals linked to an ancient Iwi tribe and a prophecy. A diverse supporting cast appears in standard expedition roles alongside a young Iwi girl tied to the Mothra awakening subplot.
