Frank Carver is a former mob enforcer who leaves prison after about two decades for a murder he did not commit. He has a fatal sleep disorder, so doctors say he may have only months to live. Frank wants to rebuild his bond with Joey, the son he missed, while he hunts the gang members who betrayed him. The film moves through an unnamed American-style city and mixes a grim crime story with family drama, dark humor, and sudden violence.
