Truth Seekers follows Gus Roberts, a broadband worker in Britain who spends his spare time filming ghosts for a small online channel. His new partner, Elton John, fears the supernatural, but Gus learns that Elton is linked to the spirit world. The pair join Astrid and Elton’s sister Helen as strange cases lead them from haunted homes and a hotel to an old power station. The season mixes dry British jokes, eerie scares, grief, family secrets, and a plan that could control human minds.
The show gives Elton and Helen important roles as a black brother and sister, but the plot does not build around race, gender, or sexuality. Astrid’s mystery concerns her death and her link to the spirit world, not a modern identity cause. Elton and Helen face fear, family pain, and pressure to hide their past, while Gus deals with grief over his wife.
