Person profile
Creator Context
Al Gore is a former Democratic vice president, author, and long-standing environmental campaigner whose public identity is centered on climate change. As a senator and vice president he supported affirmative action, civil-rights protections, women’s equality initiatives, and disability-rights measures, while also describing himself as opposed to identity politics that prioritizes group entitlements over shared citizenship. Since leaving office, he has made climate advocacy his primary vocation through books, documentaries, the Climate Reality Project, international campaigning, and support for youth climate activism and the Green New Deal. He has also discussed environmental injustice, including the disproportionate effects of pollution on black communities. His record is strongly liberal and activist on climate and sustainability, but there is no comparable career pattern focused on racial, gender, or queer representation, DEI production, or identity-politics branding.
